Terms and conditions
The short version: turn up to your booking, we turn up to ours. Tell us honestly what state the car is in, and there will be no surprises on either side.
Effective date: 4 August 2026
These terms apply when you book any service with PureShine Detailing (“PureShine”, “we”, “us”), a mobile car detailing business operating across Wembley, Brent, Harrow and NW London. Booking with us means you accept them.
Booking and deposits
- A £20 deposit is taken by card when you book. It secures your slot and comes off the final price.
- The remaining balance is due on the day, once the work is finished.
- Where you have agreed to it at the time of booking, the balance is taken from the card held securely on file after the job is completed. You will always be told the final figure before it is taken.
- Prices are set by vehicle size and shown before you pay. The price you are quoted is the price you pay, unless something changes on the day — see Condition of the vehicle below.
Cancelling or moving your booking
- More than 24 hours’ notice — move or cancel free of charge, and your deposit is refunded or carried over to the new date, whichever you prefer.
- Less than 24 hours’ notice — the deposit is not refunded. That slot is usually too late to fill, and it is a day’s work lost.
- No access on arrival — if we arrive and cannot reach the car, or nobody is there to provide keys or access as arranged, the deposit is not refunded.
- If we cancel — for illness, van trouble or anything else our end, you get the deposit back in full or a new slot, your choice. If we have to move a booking we will tell you as early as we possibly can.
Weather
We work outside. Light rain is not usually a problem for the wash itself, but heavy rain, ice or high winds can make some work unsafe or pointless — machine polishing and coatings in particular need dry, settled conditions.
If the weather makes a job impossible we will contact you and move it to the next available date at no charge. Your deposit carries over. We would rather rearrange than do a job that will not last.
Access, parking and power
- We bring our own water and power. Nothing is needed from your home.
- We need enough room to open the doors and walk around the car — roughly a car’s width on one side.
- If you are in a permit or controlled parking zone, tell us when you book so we can plan where the van sits.
- You do not need to be there. Plenty of customers leave a key with a neighbour.
- Where a job is outside our normal service area, a travel charge may apply. It will always be agreed with you before you book, never added afterwards.
Condition of the vehicle
Prices assume a car in normal used condition for its age. If the car turns out to be significantly worse than described — heavy pet hair, mould, sickness, building materials, excessive dirt, or damage that needs a different service — we will tell you before we start, explain what it needs and what it will cost, and you decide.
We will never quietly do extra work and bill you for it afterwards. If you would rather not go ahead, we will do the job you booked and charge the price you booked, or cancel and refund the deposit.
What we cannot fix
We would rather say this here than on your driveway.
- Stone chips, deep scratches and dents — polishing removes swirl marks and light marks in the lacquer. Anything you can feel with a fingernail needs paint or body repair.
- Etching that has gone through the lacquer — from bird mess or sap left too long.
- Burns, tears and dye transfer in upholstery or leather — cleaning makes them cleaner, not invisible.
- Some odours — smoke and long-term pet smell may need a second visit or ozone treatment, which we will tell you about honestly.
- Pre-existing damage — loose trim, failing clear coat, perished seals, aftermarket wraps or previous bad repairs may not survive normal safe cleaning. We will point out anything we spot before starting.
Your responsibilities
- Remove valuables, loose items and personal belongings from the car before we arrive.
- Tell us about anything we should know — a loose bumper, a leaking sunroof, a dashcam, a wrap, aftermarket paint, or a car that has been resprayed.
- Make sure the vehicle is legally and safely parked where we are working.
We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle, or for pre-existing faults and damage we could not reasonably have known about.
Insurance and liability
PureShine Detailing is fully insured. If we damage your vehicle through our own negligence, tell us straight away and we will put it right. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Memberships
- Memberships are monthly and roll on until you cancel. There is no minimum term and no contract.
- Cancel any time by giving us notice before your next payment date.
- Missed visits caused by weather are rescheduled, not lost.
- Visits you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or where we cannot get access, count as used.
- Membership places are limited. If you cancel and later want to rejoin, you rejoin at the rate available at that time.
Photographs
We photograph our work, and we may use those photos on our website and social media. Number plates are blurred. If you would rather we did not photograph your car at all, just say so — it is never a problem.
Complaints
If something is not right, tell us before you tell the internet. Message or call 07804 430657 or email info@pureshinedetailing.co.uk within 48 hours and we will come back and sort it wherever we reasonably can. We would much rather fix it than read about it.
General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we update them, the new version appears on this page with a new effective date, and the version that applies to your booking is the one published when you booked.
